(Anthem, AZ) Arizona State Representative Sam Crump (District 6) recently joined the Board of Directors for Hope 4 Kids International. His connection to the non-profit organization is the result of his involvement in the Anthem Rotary Club and his founding of an orphanage in Uganda. “I’ve been working on Sunrise House Orphanage in Uganda since 2004,” Crump explained. “It started as a Rotary project but was becoming more than I could handle.” As it turns out, Hope 4 Kids is headquartered right in his hometown of Anthem and has orphanage projects around the world. Crump began to hear about Hope 4 Kids more and more, and his own son, Jonathan, even went on a Hope 4 Kids mission to Peru last summer. So Crump contacted the Founder and President of Hope 4 Kids, Tom Eggum, and they discussed their mutual interest and how they could work together on these projects. “Sam is a natural fit for us. A perfect partnership,” says Eggum. “It’s exciting to see how our partnership will grow. We are already working with another organization called Outreach for Africa in the area of Sunrise House. We’ll take teams over to Ft. Portal and help these kids become self-sufficient.” Sam has helped raise funds for the operating expenses of Sunrise House with the Mirembe Kawomera Coffee Project, a co-operative of farmers in Uganda. All of the proceeds from the sale of the coffee will go to the direct support of the orphanage. Hope 4 Kids International looks forward to selling the coffee under their label this year. In February of 2008, Sam Crump and Tom Eggum will travel back to Uganda to visit the coffee project along with Sunrise House. Hope 4 Kids International provides hope to kids around the world by bringing necessary care to children through health, dignity, joy & love. Hope 4 Kids strives to restore the dignity stripped from innocent children who are suffering through extreme poverty and disease. H4KI sponsors 1300 AIDS orphans in Uganda & Kenya, along with other orphans in Peru & Romania.
