(November 30,2007) Founding President, Tom Eggum, appeared on the #1 morning show on the East Coast called Your Morning on CN8 in Philadelphia, PA.
The morning show that broadcasts through nine million homes highlighted Hope 4 Kids in the 8 Days of Giving segment. Connie Colla, the news anchor for channel 8 interviewed Tom on ways people can help and get involved with Hope 4 Kids. Three major donations were highlighted: Apopt a Village, Holiday Giving & education.
Adopt a Village
Fifty-one villages will be sponsored for $28K throughout Uganda, Kenya, & Tanzania. Each village will be provided 3 acres of land, a community well, a church, a house for the pastor and a two-room medical clinic.
Holiday Giving
You may support our Holiday Giving for $10 and up. You can buy a goat, a life kit, a pair of shoes for one of our orphans in the name of someone this holiday season. We will send out a special holiday card letting the person know that someone bought a gift in their name.
Education
Any amount is welcome. We really believe education is the way out of poverty. We are supporting a number of schools and we have even built our own primary school. -------------
Connie: Can you sponsor a specific child?
Tom: Yes, We have 1300 kids in our sponsorship program. Kids are available in Africa, Peru & Romania for sponsorship.
Connie: Tom, how much money, let's say you donate to a specific area of work, how much of what you actually donate will make its way to that project?
Tom: 100% of the donation can go specifically to the project of your choice. Always, 100% goes directly to the projects you designate. Admin cost & fees are never taken out.
Connie: Can you use more volunteers?
Tom: On trips, we would love to have anybody on our trips. we especially love to have teenagers on trips because they bring such an energy and passion with them. February 9th is our next trip. We will be going back to Uganda.
Connie: Tom Eggum, the founder of hope 4 Kids International, thank you for being with us, and for dedicating your life to helping children in need.
