FAQ
  • Who leads the teams?

  • Tom Eggum, Founding President of Hope 4 Kids International, has lead the majority of our international teams since 1973. We also have at least one other staff member to help lead the teams.
  • Where do we stay?

  • Our team stays in the best hotels we are able to find in the area we are serving. This enables our team members to have a comfortable place to sleep and be well rested for the duration of our stay. Upon request, single rooms are also available for an additional fee.
  • What do we eat?

  • We find the best food available (usually in the hotel or in a restaurant) to feed our teams. Teams enjoy trying local cuisine with the comfort of knowing that it is safe to eat. We also recommend that team members bring snacks – granola bars, energy bars, trail mix, etc.
  • Are the places we travel to safe?

  • Safety is our primary concern. In all of our years of taking teams internationally, we have never had an incident that endangered anyone. If we have heard of trouble in an area, we will not visit that area. We take every precaution to protect our team from any unnecessary risk.
  • Who can go on a mission?

  • We invite teenagers through seniors to travel with us – from all backgrounds and experience. We welcome people from various industries, including: medical, dental, construction, agriculture, teaching, ministry, social work, students, business, and many other walks of life. If you care about reaching out to the poor in need, you qualify.
  • What would I do each day?

  • We try to give people various serving opportunities throughout our mission trips. Some days you may assist in a clinic, other days you may want to spend time playing with the kids or delivering goats or mosquito nets to orphans in the bush. Teams will also have the opportunity to witness well dedications and walk to the original water sources. You can help with painting or construction projects or help in our agricultural projects. We visit kids in hospitals, orphanages, and schools and we usually have opportunities to use music, drama, and puppets to communicate the message of Christ’s love to the kids we meet. Each day will be full of activities and opportunities for you to use your gifts.

  • Where do team members come from?

  • Most of our team members come from North America, but people living outside the United States are welcome to join us. International Team members will join us in our destination city. Very few people know each other at the onset of the trip.
