Premise

Construction of a Community Center/Church. Facilitate Vacation Bible School for 600 kids.

The great need in Peru is shocking. Partnering with Project: New Hope, H4KI has identified six barrios outside Trujillo, containing 10,000 people each, that do not have the critical basics. Agricultural farms are extremely limited. Children are malnurished and go to bed hungry. Many single mothers are living in temporary housing without roofs. Barrios lack sewers and bathrooms. Because barrios are being built on landfills, kids are sick and even becoming bed-ridden. By focusing on developing agricultural projects and small businesses, Hope 4 Kids is developing the economy within the barrios to become self-sufficient. Orphan, education, feeding and emergency medical funds have been established for the people living in these communities.

Excursions

Dress warm; it's chilly! the team will be
traveling during the winter season. The
cooler weather will add to the beauty
and recreation of the Andes mountain.
On a free day, you will travel to the
charming city of Cusco and from their
take a train to visit the lost Incan
civilization of Machu Picchu.

Accomodations

Teams stay in lovely ocean side hotels in Trujillo and historic hotels in charming downtown Cusco and enjoy local and international cuisine in area and city restaurants.

 

Trip costs are:
Application Fee: $200 (non-refundable)
Adults: $1790 + airfare
Students: $1590 + airfare
This includes your accommodations, three meals a day, transportation within the country & mission project costs.

Projects

Peru's need is very extreme and immediate.
Some barrios are built on land-fills and many homes
have no electricity and no running water.

Over the summer in 2006, H4KI has
•  Began construction on Community Center/Church
•  Built a restroom
•  Improved the water & electrical utility infrastructure
•  Began construction on  a medical/dental clinic

Over the next several years, H4KI has plans in place for:
•  Community Center/Church in 6 barrios
•  Medical Clinic with birthing room in 6 barrios
•  Kitchen in every barrio
