Project Living Water

Over 1 billion people in this world are living without the basics: clean water, food, shelter, basic health care and education. More than 300 million, nearly half the people in Africa, do not have access to clean water.

Kids fetching waterOne of our most important projects that we are passionate about is providing safe drinkable water to rural areas around the world. Dysentery, next to Malaria and Measles is the number three killer in East Africa. Women will ride their bike up to six hours to Lake Victoria for polluted water that they believe to be clean.

Villagers, mainly women will carry up to 200 lbs. of water dispersed into five geri cans. Many villagers are even told that their villages do not have access to water because the lake has leached it all up.

Earlier this year, Tom shared his passion about bringing clean water to those around the world who have been forced to ride a bike up to eight miles to access the nearest water supply. Then, Tom’s passion transcended into a young man, named Nate Moreno.

Nate Moreno As a 13 yr. old, Nate already knew the power of what one individual can do to make a difference. Single-handedly, he started a movement with his school to dig wells for kids that did not have access to clean water in Africa. Nate is creating a program through our 4 Hopes (Dignity, Health, Joy & Love) at his Hillcrest campus that will serve as a model for other campuses in Phoenix. Nate hopes one day that his community service piece will be used throughout other schools around the world.

As a science winner two years in a row, Nate is looking for his trifecta as he studies the direct impact a well will have near a school. Nate will dedicate his first well with his science teacher, Miss Reid alongside other educators from his school in Uganda this October. If you are interested in donating towards Project Living Water, please Give Now. 100% of your donation will go to the direct support of Project Living Water.

Thanks Nate for reminding us that we all have the power to change the world!
