Resident Writer/ Director of Widows' Concerns
Rachel heads up the Widows 2 B Won
division of Hope 4 Kids International. She and her husband Robert have
been to Uganda nine times in less than three years. While there they
and their American team work with widows helping them to start their
own businesses, pamper them with day spas, build and repair crumbling
houses, teach new skills, and share their faith and hope in God. Teams
have witnessed a transformation of women in despair to women filled
with joy and hope for tomorrow as they realize God has not forgotten
them. Not only are the lives of the widows changed but also those of
their children whom are being fed and sent to school in order that
their opportunities will be many. Widows 2 B Won partners with two organizations in Uganda called Smile Africa & True Vine Team Ministries.
Rachel
and Robert have also traveled to Cuba, Romania, Russia, Chile and Peru
with Hope4Kids. Rachel and her brother Tom Eggum, founder and president
of Hope4Kids International have co-authored a book, God, Why Don't You Hear Their Prayer? It is scheduled to be released Feb. 1, 2008.
While
she is in the States, Rachel travels throughout the country speaking to
clubs, churches, women's groups, senior's groups, conferences and
private gatherings on behalf of Hope4Kids International and the widows
of Uganda.
